We want to share some tips and tricks with you so you can maximize your time when you visit Pigeon Forge. Look at these 5 tips and tricks you should know when you visit Pigeon Forge:
1. Take the Trolley
If you’ve never visited Pigeon Forge before, you probably don’t know how to get around town. Don’t spend time getting lost or being distracted while using the GPS. Pigeon Forge has a trolley system set up to take you virtually anywhere you want in the city! They will take you from the trolley station in Patriot Park to the south Parkway, north Parkway, Wears Valley, Dollywood, and even Gatlinburg! All of the routes are $1 per person, except Dollywood which is $2.50. You can buy a wristband for all day riding for $3. You must use exact change when getting on the trolley. The trolleys run consistently throughout the day, anywhere from every 15 minutes to every 45. This is a great way to get around town!
2. Book Attractions ASAP
You don’t want to be disappointed by having a dinner show being sold out or having to wait in long lines to purchase tickets. Take the hassle out of buying tickets for shows and attractions by booking the things you want to do as soon as possible! At some places, you can even save money by reserving tickets online instead of waiting to buy tickets at the door.
3. Traffic Patterns
Traffic can get pretty heavy during certain parts of the year and certain parts of the day in Pigeon Forge. If you’re coming any time during the summer or the holiday season, traffic will be heavy throughout the day. Also, if there’s a Rod Run or some kind of parade scheduled, traffic will be heavy during these times of the year too. Typically, if you leave where you are staying before 10 am and return after 7 pm you should avoid most of the traffic.
4. Plan in Advance
Some people aren’t planners; they want to see what they want to do when they reach their destination. While this works in some areas, you probably want to plan your vacation when you visit Pigeon Forge. You should have your lodging plans already in place that way you definitely have a room or cabin. If there’s a popular restaurant you really want to eat at, you should go ahead and plan when you want to go and try to get there before the crowds come in.
